Onalaska girls basketball fell to the district’s second-place team from Coldspring Friday in a 63-40 contest by the lake.
The Lady Cats kept the game close for a quarter, but an inability to make layups would be a factor in the loss. On several occasions, Onalaska defenders came up with a steal and drove to the basket, only to miss a shot under the rim.
Coldspring began to pull away in the second quarter, holding the Cats to just seven points. Meanwhile, the Lady Trojans scored 18, 17 and 17 in the final frames to win comfortably.
Kelli Arce led Onalaska with 17 points, while Shaylan Linear had 10.
