Juan Manuel Zuniga was born on October 8, 1972 to Jesus Zuniga and Frances Garza Gellegos in Harlingen, Texas. He passed from this life on October 1, 2025, in Houston, Texas, just shy of turning 53.
He was known for his infectious laughter and vibrant spirit. While we mourn his departure, let us cherish the memories and celebrate the remarkable life he lived. He was a loving husband and devoted father to Angel, Yajaira and Yoselin. As a son, brother, uncle, and friend, he embraced each role with warmth and generosity.
Juan is survived by his mother, Frances Gallegos and stepfather, Juan Gallegos; wife, Carmen Martinez Zuniga; son, Angel Zuniga; daughters, Yajaira Alvarado and Yoselin Alvarado; brother, Jesus Zuniga Jr.; sister, Perla Martinez; nephews and nieces, Jesus Zuniga III, Tomas Lee Zuniga, Johnathan Zuniga, Kristina Zuniga, Frances Zuniga, Lizzy Zuniga and Edward Zuniga; grandchildren, Mason Sosa, Matthew Sosa, Noah Alvarado, Liletzy Soto, Teresita Alvarado, Ezequiel Braro, Yanely Maya, Javier Veraga, Daniel Alvarado, Madeline Alvarado and Jaden Alvarado; as well as many other loved ones and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jesus Zuniga; sisters, Gloria Garza Galan and Maria de Jesus Garza; and brother, Sergio Garza.
Family and friends gathered in celebrating Juan’s extraordinary life on October 4, 2025 at Pace Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. Visitation started at 4 p.m. and the celebration of life started at 6 p.m. Stories, laughter and maybe even a few tears were shared as we honored the beautiful legacy Juan leaves behind. Everyone was encouraged to come wearing bright colors to reflect the joy he brought into our lives.
