Late barrage of runs downs Onalaska

Onalaska baseball took a few leads at home Friday, but could not hold off the Anderson-Shiro offense in later innings, taking an 11-5 loss in the opening of district play.

Onalaska was first on the board in the second inning, when Collin Vann reached on error, Luke Field walked and Carson Davies reached on error to score a run. Then, a double steal plated another Wildcat for a 2-0 advantage.

Anderson-Shiro pulled off their own double steal in the next frame, scoring a run. With the bases loaded a hit by pitch tied the score.

The Wildcats went back on top and the bottom half, with Patrick Roth and Trip Teel walking. A balk would later bring in the run.

The Owls scored four in the fifth inning and five more in the sixth to put the game out of reach.

A run for Onalaska would come on a dropped third strike, and their final score when Wyatt Reyes took a base on balls with the bags full.
