Livingston pushed Hardin-Jefferson down to second place Friday night, winning over the Hawks 68-64.
The two teams were tied for first, each with just one loss in district play. The Lions made it a season sweep over H-J, and now hold an important tie breaker. Tied for third, Hargrave and Hamshire-Fannett each have four losses in 19-4A.
Livingston led most of Friday night, but a 23-point fourth quarter put the Hawks back in it near the end. Up just two points with 5.5 seconds left, Cruz Julian sank two free throws that would seal it for the Lions.
Ziekus Garner led the team with 30 points, T.J. Garner had 18, and Zayden Martin scored nine.
It has been 1999 since Livingston has won a district title. They will attempt to close out a strong season at Shepherd, hosting Tarkington, and at Hamshire-Fannett.
