Lions claim bi-district title

Lion baseball enjoyed their opening round of the playoffs, defeating Houston Furr 19-2 in a five-inning bi-district match decided in Livingston.

The Lions scored 11 runs in the first inning, removing any doubt of the outcome. Karter Nelson had three hits and five RBIs, while also striking out all three Brahmans he faced on the mound.

Roper Wood also had three hits, driving in four. He also walked once. Other Lions with multiple hits were Braxton Smith, Ryder Surrency and Rudy Marquez. Smith and Marquez both scored three runs, while Nelson, Wood, Ryder Powledge and Kaine Roane all scored two runs each.

Four Livingston pitchers received work on the mound. Landon Hodges, Nelson and Smith all delivered perfect outings.
