Livingston softball made quick work of Houston Northside in the opening round of playoffs Thursday, defeating the Lady Panthers 16-0 in just three innings at New Caney High School.

Many Lady Lions got in on the 16-hit parade, but Raigen Long was a standout. She pitched three perfect innings while striking out nine, and swatted a home run during her 3-for-3 effort at the plate. Catcher Isabelle Parrish also had three hits and drove in four runs.

Alexyis Richardson, Brooklyn Dueberry, and Corinne Henderson had multi-hit games. Long and Dueberry scored three times apiece. In all, 10 Lady Lions reached base.

The game was never close, as Livingston scored five in the top of the first, seven in the second, and four in the third for the run-rule win.

They will advance to the area round, and await the winner of Little-Cypress Mauriceville and Hudson. Hudson was a 3-1 winner Thursday in the best-of-three series.
