Early voting ends Friday for Tuesday’s runoff elections

Early voting concludes Friday for Tuesday’s Republican and Democratic Primary Runoff Elections.

Local voters heading to the polls are focused on the two local races on the Republican ballot. Incumbent County Judge Sydney Murphy will face Challenger Larry Pfeil and Incumbent Precinct 2 Commissioner Mark DuBose will face Challenger Jay Stutts.

However, there are also four statewide races on the Republican Party ballot (U.S. senator, attorney general, railroad commissioner and judge, Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 3) and two statewide races on the Democratic Party ballot (lieutenant governor and attorney general).

Races on the Republican Party ballot, in addition to the two local races, include:

  • Incumbent U.S. Senator John Cornyn will face Challenger Ken Paxton.
  • Chip Roy and Mayes Middleton will face off for attorney general.
  • Incumbent Jim Wright will face Challenger Bo French.
  • Thomas Smith and Alison Fox will face off for Judge, Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 3.

Races on the Democratic Party ballot include:

  • Marcos Isaias Velez and Vikki Goodwin will face off for lieutenant governor.
  • Nathan Johnson and Joe Jaworksi will face off for attorney general.

Early voting is available from 7-7 p.m. at three locations: the Polk County Judicial Center at 101 W. Mill St. in Livingston; the Sechrest Webster Community Center at 100 W. Front St. in Corrigan; and the Onalaska Sub-Courthouse at 14111 US 190 West in Onalaska.

On Election Day, which is Tuesday, the polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Schwab City Baptist Church at 10998 SH 146 in Livingston
  • Goodrich Community Center at 857 Loop 393 in Goodrich
  • Onalaska Sub-Courthouse at 14111 US 190 West in Onalaska
  • Blanchard Baptist Church at 2450 FM 2457 in Livingston
  • Sechrest Webster Community Center at 100 W. Front St. in Corrigan
  • Alabama-Coushatta Administration Building at 571 State Park Rd. #56 in Livingston
  • Polk County Judicial Center at 101 W. Mill St. in Livingston.
