The Board of Trustees of the Livingston Independent School District approved board meeting dates for the 2026-2027 school year during a special called meeting Monday. Those dates are as follows: July 20, Aug. 24, Sept. 21, Oct. 19, Nov. 16, Dec. 14, Jan. 19, Feb. 22, March 29, April 19, May 17 and June 21.
A closed session was on the agenda to deliberate personnel. Upon return to open session, the board approved probationary/term contracts and probationary administrator contracts and also approved the termination of a probationary contract for Kai Caraballo.
The called meeting followed the second in a series of meetings of the LISD strategic planning committee which was formed to engage stakeholders in developing the district’s vision, mission and long-term goals.
Nearly 70 people attended the committee’s first meeting on April 13. Approximately 50 people attended Monday’s meeting of the strategic planning committee whose role is to develop a broad, comprehensive and collaborative strategic planning document that will guide the district for approximately five years. Its work is focused on long-term direction and priorities, not day-to-day operational decisions.
Facilitating the group is Roz Keck of N2 Learning, which works with education entities across the state of Texas and beyond on projects such as leadership development, planning and facilitation, transformational learning environments, search services, and assessment and accountability.
