Primary runoff elections are Tuesday

Although early voting ended Friday for Tuesday’s Republican and Democratic Primary Runoff Elections, results were not yet available at press time.

There are two local races and four statewide races on the Republican ballot and two statewide races on the Democratic ballot.

Incumbent County Judge Sydney Murphy will face Challenger Larry Pfeil and Incumbent Precinct 2 Commissioner Mark DuBose will face Challenger Jay Stutts.

In addition to the two local races, other races on the Republican Party ballot include:

  • Incumbent U.S. Senator John Cornyn will face Challenger Ken Paxton.
  • Chip Roy and Mayes Middleton will face off for attorney general.
  • Incumbent Jim Wright will face Challenger Bo French.
  • Thomas Smith and Alison Fox will face off for Judge, Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 3.

Races on the Democratic Party ballot include:

  • Marcos Isaias Velez and Vikki Goodwin will face off for lieutenant governor.
  • Nathan Johnson and Joe Jaworksi will face off for attorney general.
