With the 80th annual Trinity-Neches FFA and 4-H Livestock Show and Rodeo having recently wrapped up March 28 through April 3, Matt Anderson, a representative of the Trinity-Neches FFA and 4-H Livestock Show and Rodeo, recently provided a program for the Rotary Club of Livingston.
Anderson said 184 Polk County youth participated in this year’s show and 113 students sold animals at the sale, setting a new auction record of $661,378.
Though the livestock show is only for active members of 4-H or FFA who are in third through 12th grades, he said the rodeo is open to all youth in the State of Texas.
Anderson said the Polk County Area Go Texan Committee awarded over 30 scholarships to students throughout the county and the Polk County Farm Bureau awarded three scholarships.
“All of our show numbers are up. Kids are getting involved in agriculture and we love it,” Anderson said.
