Classes will begin Feb. 17 for nurse aide certification at the Texas State University System Polk County Center located at 1015 US 59 in Livingston.
Obtaining nurse aide certification requires 15 college-credit courses which are also the prerequisite courses for LVN.
The courses include: NURA 1301 – Nurse Aid for Health Care; NURA 1160 – Clinical-Nursing Assistant/Aide and Patient Care Assistant/Aide; BIOL 2301 – Human Anatomy and Physiology I (lecture); BIOL 2101 – Human Anatomy and Physiology I (lab); BIOL 2302 – Human Anatomy and Physiology II (lecture); BIOL 2102 – Human Anatomy and Physiology II (lab); and HECO – Nutrition and Diet Therapy.
