Polk County deputies responded to the Quailcrest area on Aug. 14 to locate a fugitive sex offender in Livingston.

The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office provided information regarding Doyle Cheek’s possible whereabouts. Cheek, a sex offender, had been evading apprehension since 2018.

Upon arrival, deputies made contact with a male subject who identified himself as Jason Cheek. Jason stated that Doyle was a family member, but was not currently at the residence. Deputies also located April Cheek, Doyle’s wife, at the residence.

While deputies were speaking with April, Jason was observed jumping from a rear window of the residence and fleeing on foot. Deputies pursued and apprehended him. The subject was subsequently identified and confirmed to be Doyle Cheek, bringing an eight-year effort to locate him to an end.

Cheek was taken into custody on his outstanding felony warrant for aggravated sexual assault of a child. He was also charged with failure to identify as a fugitive and evading arrest.

April Cheek was also taken into custody and charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution of a known felon/sex offender.
