Pre-employment psych evals for law enforcement on agenda

The rebid of a request for proposals for the pre-employment psychological evaluations for law enforcement will be discussed and considered for action by the Polk County Commissioners Court during its regular meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Action relating to the emergency replacement of the hot water boiler system at the Polk

County Jail will be considered, as will action for the purchase of portable and mobile radios.

The Court will discuss and consider action regarding the formation of a biosolids committee.

Action regarding the bid for the purchase of two trucks for Precinct 3 will be considered.

The Court will also discuss and consider action relating to volunteer fire department territory.

In personnel matters, the Court will review and consider personnel action form requests submitted by department heads since the last meeting and review any authorized emergency hires.

Fiscal year 2025 budget amendments as presented by the county auditor’s office will be considered for approval.

The annual report from the delinquent tax collection office will be presented during information reports.

Items on the consent agenda include:

• Approve minutes of the Jan. 14 meeting;

• Approve schedules of bills;

• Approve order designating surplus property;

• Receive county auditor’s monthly report, pursuant to Local Government Code Sec. 114.025;

• Receive and record personnel action forms submitted by elected officials since the last meeting;

• Approve Precinct 3 Constable Kevin Burman’s request to appoint Anthony Ray Myers to reserve deputy constable;

• Approve Precinct 4 Constable Darwon Evans’ request to appoint Caleb Clayton to reserve deputy constable;

• Receive and record sheriff’s department 2024 racial profiling report;

• Approve request from Sheriff Byron Lyons for asset forfeiture expenditure in the amount of $7,528.40 for the purchase of emergency response equipment;

• Approve renewal agreement for Throckmorton gravel lease;

• Approve renewal agreement with Texas Document Solutions for printers;

• Ratify approval of Amendment No. 6 to General Land Office (GLO) Contract 20-066-018-c-125 for the Hurricane Harvey buyout/acquisition program;

• Ratify approval of Grant Contract No. 582-24-50085 with Deep East Texas Council of Governments (DETCOG) for solid waste project;

• Approve fiscal year 2025 contract extension 23-1000824-3 (Jan. 1-March 30, 2025) between Polk County Aging Department and Deep East Texas Council of Governments (DETCOG) for Older American Act Program (congregate and home delivered meals);

• Receive county treasurer’s monthly report for December;

• Receive county treasurer’s first quarter fiscal year 2025 report; and

• Receive county treasurer’s first quarter fiscal year 2025 investment report.
