For the first time since 2012, Goodrich has defeated its rival. It wasn’t easy, but a 22-point fourth quarter lifted the Hornets to a road victory 58-54 over Leggett Friday.
Down 57-54 with eight seconds left, Goodrich junior Saul Guzman came up with a steal to start a celebration for the visitors.
Junior Marquis Robinson paced the Hornets with 13 points through three periods, but led a final act that gave Goodrich its first district win in three years. He had a dozen more, bringing the total to 25 for the night.
Sophomore Wilmer Parades had 12 points and Guzman had 11. Leggett scorers included Iasiah Henderson with 20 points, and Zach Huff and Kaden Wilson with nine each.
