The Polk County Sheriff’s Office received a tip Aug. 28 on a registered sex offender not complying with his registration requirements.
An investigation immediately began for Larry Duff Jr. of Livingston. It was determined that he has a Facebook profile under a fake name that was not reported to his registration officer, which is required by Chapter 62 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure.
A warrant for failure to comply with sex offender duty to register life/annual, a third-degree felony, was issued.
Duff was arrested Sept. 4 on the active warrant and was held in the Polk County Jail. He was released a day later on a $10,000 bond.
