Livingston Police Department officers were notified Aug. 16 of a vehicle burglary in the Lowe’s parking lot. The detective assigned to the case was able to identify a suspect vehicle and an unidentified suspect.
On Aug. 24, patrol officers located the suspect vehicle and identified the suspect as Christopher Hayes, 40, of Shepherd. Officers also learned that he was wanted by TDCJ Pardons and Paroles.
A search warrant was obtained for the motel room where Hayes had some belongings. Officers found methamphetamine and items believed to be stolen. Detectives later served the arrest warrant for vehicle burglary.
Hayes was booked into the Polk County Jail for the parole violation of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a controlled substance, unauthorized possession of copper/brass, and burglary of a vehicle.
