The 80th annual Trinity-Neches FFA and 4-H Livestock Show and Rodeo kicks off Saturday with mutton bustin’ signups for children six and under at 3 p.m. Mutton bustin’ check-in is at 5 p.m. and the mutton bustin’ will begin at 5:30 p.m. The rodeo will begin at 6 p.m.
Gates will not open prior to 6 a.m. each morning and gates will close at 10 p.m. each night. There will be a security guard on the grounds from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Check-in for the breeding heifer show and the dairy heifer show is slated for 8-9 a.m. Sunday. The breeding heifer show will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will be followed by the dairy heifer show.
Sunday from 5-8 p.m. will be early move-in for ag mechanics, steers, commercial heifers, swine, goats and lambs.
Monday from 8-10 a.m. will be the weigh-in for steers, commercial heifers, swine, goats and lambs. Meat pen and breeding rabbits will check-in at 8 a.m. Rabbit judging will begin at 9 a.m. starting with the meat pens and then the breeding rabbits. All steers, heifers, swine, goats and lambs must be on the grounds and weighed in by 10 a.m. Monday.
The Queens Luncheon is slated for noon, with a presentation to follow. Check-in for production poultry and broilers will occur at 5:30 p.m. and the production poultry show will be at 6 p.m. and will be followed by the broiler show.
Tuesday will kick off at 9 a.m. with the market lamb show. The market goat show is slated for noon and will be followed by the breeding goat show. The swine show will occur at 5:30 p.m.
Check-in for arts and crafts, food and cupcakes will be from 9-9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Food and cupcake judging will occur at 10 a.m., as will the commercial heifer show. The arts and crafts judging will occur at noon and the entries will be available for viewing and pick-up at the conclusion of judging.
The market steer show is slated for 2 p.m. Wednesday and the sale meeting for family and consumer science projects will be at 4 p.m. The Pee Wee Show will be at 5:30 p.m. at the swine barn. Exhibitors must tell TNLS officials which animals to place in the sale within 30 minutes of the conclusion of the steer show.
Youth barbecue teams will move in from 6-6:30 a.m. Thursday. Check-in for the no limits show is from 9-9:30 a.m. with the no limits show starting at 10 a.m. Ag mechanics judging will occur at 10 a.m. and the sale area will be set up at noon. Barbecue judging will occur at 6 p.m., followed by the announcement of the results. There will be a washer tournament at 7 p.m. Thursday at the swine barn.
There is a mandatory sale participant’s meeting at 8 a.m. Friday in the swine barn. The buyer’s lunch is slated for 11 a.m. Scholarships and awards will be presented at 12:30 p.m., as well as results of the queen’s contest and the rodeo. The Trinity-Neches Livestock Show sale will begin at 1 p.m. Friday. Animal projects will be released 30 minutes after the sale ends.
