Landon Hodges faced 21 batters and retired them all Monday, as Livingston Lion baseball clinched its first district championship since 2022, defeating Tarkington 3-0.
Hodges worked quickly and was efficient, allowing his defense to make plays and striking out eight Longhorns in his perfect game.
Livingston gained a lead in the bottom of the first, as Braxon Smith reached on error and Karter Nelson drove him in with an RBI-double.
They were back at it again in the third, when Bentley Campos walked and stole two bases. Smith drove him in with a base hit.
In the fourth, Hodges would help his own cause with a double. Brayden Goins moved the runner with a sacrifice grounder and Roper Wood drove in the run with two outs on a single.
