Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas offers a variety of free services to help Deep East Texas businesses thrive and get individuals back to work or on a path to sustainable careers.
The six Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas centers are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Specialists are available to help with: job readiness, resume assistance, job search, skills training, paid work experience, in-person and virtual workshops, support services, and more.
The Polk County Workforce Center is located at 1241 W. Church St., Ste. 300, in Livingston. The telephone number is 936-327-5421.
A variety of hiring events and job fairs across the 12-county region are available and Workforce Solutions offers assistance with registering, preparing for, and attending the events at all six workforce centers.
Locally, the Gary Job Corps is hosting a hiring event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas – Polk County Center.

A number of free one-hour in-person workshops are also available at the workforce centers. Two interview workshops which will help participants prepare for interviews and practice answering tough questions and asking questions are scheduled for the Polk County Workforce Center. One is at 2 p.m. on Dec. 20 and the other is at 2 p.m. on Dec. 27.
A one-hour workshop to work on communication – specifically, removing barriers, non-verbal communication and listening skills – is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Dec. 13 at the Polk County Workforce Center.
There are also some new one-hour workshops online. A “breaking barriers” workshop is slated for 10 a.m. on Dec. 17 and Dec. 24.
