Pirates second in regional meet

COLMESNEIL — The Shepherd Pirate Powerlifting Team finished in second place and will send three lifters to the State Meet in Abilene following the regional meet on Friday.

Gage Murphy, who will move on to state, also received the Outstanding Squat award on the light platform after breaking the regional record with a 660-pound lift.

Leihtan Beck also won his division and Cyrus Martinez will join both of them at state.
