The Coldspring-Oakhurst Trojans saw their 2026 season come to a close in the opening round of the UIL Texas Baseball Playoffs, dropping a two-game Bi-District series to the Boling Varsity Bulldogs.

Despite moments of resilience and solid individual performances, the Trojans were unable to match Boling’s consistent offense and pitching depth across the series.

In the Thursday tilt, Coldspring kept pace early before Boling capitalized on key opportunities to secure a 9-2 victory. Boling struck first in the second inning, manufacturing a run with patience at the plate, and extended the lead to 2-0 in the third.

The Trojans responded in the fourth inning, taking advantage of wild pitches to tie the game at 2-2 and briefly shift momentum. However, Boling quickly answered in the bottom half of the inning, reclaiming the lead with disciplined at-bats and situational hitting.

From there, the Bulldogs steadily pulled away behind a balanced offensive attack. Kaden Hubbard started on the mound for Coldspring, working three innings with five strikeouts. Offensively, Hubbard also led the Trojans with two hits.

In the series finale, Boling methodically built its lead in a 6-0 shutout to clinch the Bi-District title.

The Bulldogs set the tone early, scoring two runs in the first inning and continuing to add on incrementally throughout the game.

Coldspring’s Jordan Ash turned in a complete-game effort on the mound, battling through seven innings against a relentless lineup. The Trojans managed four hits offensively, with contributions from McCall Hilton, Brayden Sherman, Ethan Hamilton, and Jacob Ash, but were unable to generate sustained scoring opportunities.

With the series sweep, Coldspring’s season comes to an end. Though the outcome fell short of their goals, the Trojans showed determination throughout the series, highlighted by competitive stretches in Game One and strong individual efforts on both the mound and at the plate.
