COLDSPRING — There’s a new energy pulsing through the locker room and onto the field in Coldspring this year. With the arrival of a brand-new coaching staff, a fresh playbook, and newly appointed Athletic Director and Head Coach Cody Day, the Trojans are stepping confidently into a bold new era of football.

Coach Day brings with him not just leadership and experience, but a vision, one built on discipline, speed, and an “old school meets innovation” approach to the game. “I’m excited to be here,” he said. “This team has heart, grit, and an incredible amount of speed. Honestly, I’ve never been blessed with this much quickness on the ground. It’s something special.”

Speed has always been a Coldspring trademark, and this year it’s being retooled into a powerful weapon. Coach Day hinted at what fans can expect: “Old school football never fails to lay a solid foundation. We’re starting there, but fans should be ready, we’re introducing dynamic formations as the season unfolds, and don’t be surprised if you see shades of a Wing-T offense show up.”

The summer saw strong commitment from the players, with over 50 athletes showing up daily for strength and conditioning sessions. That level of dedication from a team under new leadership is a promising sign of things to come.

The Trojans remain in the same competitive 3A district, but everything else about this season feels refreshed. New coaching. New strategy. New energy. And one goal — to make 2025 a season to remember.

Buckle up, Trojan Nation. A new chapter begins now.
