Armed robbery suspects arrested

COLDSPRING — Two people are facing charges of aggravated robbery after attempting to rob a Dollar General Store.

Alana Miranda and Nicholas Svatek were arrested by San Jacinto County Sheriff’s deputies on Wednesday due to a rapid response, community tips, and excellent coordination between patrol units and assisting agencies, both suspects were apprehended without incident.

Both individuals have been formally charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.

Sheriff Sam Houston said he is proud of the swift and coordinated effort by everyone involved in this case.

“Our team acted with urgency and precision to bring these suspects into custody,” he said. “Let it be clear — San Jacinto County will not tolerate violent crime. We will continue to stand united in protecting our citizens and upholding the law.”

Police reports indicate that on July 8 at the Dollar General located at FM 1725 and Highway 150, one of the suspects displayed a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene. A description of the suspects and their vehicle was quickly broadcast, leading to a swift response.
