Utility districts, emergency services and several candidates are up for vote in the latest election, set for May 3.

Early voting in the next general election will begin Tuesday and run through April 29.

The city of Coldspring has two candidates vying for alderman position 5 — incumbent Jennifer Manuel and challenger Calandra Johnson.

The only other candidates are running for two positions on the Cleveland ISD Board of Trustees Election, which covers a portion of San Jacinto County.

For the currently vacant Position 4, Pauline M. Johnson is facing off against Kairos Sanchez Medina; and for Position 5, Jessica Allen is challenging incumbent Amanda Sandoval Brooks.

For the Coldspring-Oakhurst CISD, the election was cancelled as incumbent candidates Berlin Bradford and Tony Sewell drew no opposition.

The San Jacinto County Municipal Utility District is seeking voter approval for the creation of District 15 and the issuance of $49.1 million in bonds for waterworks infrastructure needs.

It also seeks approval of $49.8 million for roads.

San Jacinto County Emergency Services District is proposing the annexation of all land located within the county which is not currently in the territorial jurisdiction of the ESD. This area was previously removed from the Waterwood Municipal Utility District No. 1 and not covered in the territory of the recently created ESD No. 2.

Early voting dates and times are April 22-29 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

On election day May 3, voting will be held from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
