COLDSPRING — Last month, the Coldspring-Oakhurst CISD Board of Trustees voted to put another bond issue before the voters, so on May 2, voters will consider a bond package that could transform the Jones Educational Complex into the brand-new Coldspring Intermediate Campus — a state-of-the-art learning environment designed specifically for students in grades 3–6.
What’s Being Built:
- 69,000 sq. ft. academic building
- 11,000 sq. ft. P.E. gymnasium
- 80,000 sq. ft. of total new construction
- Comprehensive site improvements — utilities, paving, lighting & landscaping
- 41 fully furnished and equipped classrooms
- Built to serve students for 50+ years
Inside the New Campus:
- Dedicated Science & Computer Labs
- Art & Music Rooms
- A brand-new Library
- Modern Cafeteria
- Core instructional classrooms for Math, Science, English, Social Studies, Foreign Language & more
- Life Skills, Therapy, and student support spaces
- Updated administration and reception areas with enhanced security features
Outside Improvements:
- Separate bus and parent drop-off/pick-up drives for improved traffic flow
- Expanded parking
- Canopy additions and exterior upgrades to enhance safety and accessibility
This bond represents more than new buildings — it represents community feedback on the instructional and academic needs of our students.
