COLDSPRING — Coldspring-Oakhurst Consolidated Independent School District superintendent Dr. Bryan Taulton updated the board on upcoming data and progress during the July 27 meeting.
Taulton reported that COCISD is slated to earn a 73-74, though official results will be made public on August 15. Taulton states that last year was the district's best academic year since 2018.
“This will be the first year that our district, since 2018, will have no F-rated campuses,” said Taulton. He also reported during the meeting that this is the first time in district history that COCISD has had a B-rated campus, which is Coldspring-Oakhurst High School.
Nevertheless, Lincoln Junior High continues to be the high focus campus to improve academically. Taulton states that due to higher volumes of tests to administer, LJH will have more academic obstacles to overcome compared to the other campuses.
Taulton states that all COCISD campuses either improved or sustained in progress from the previous year, meaning there has been no recent regressions. “The proof is in the numbers,” said Taulton.
