COCISD students earn industry certifications

COLDSPRING — Students in the Coldspring-Oakhurst CISD Health Science program are celebrating an impressive milestone, with numerous students successfully earning industry-recognized certifications this school year.

A total of four students earned their EKG Certification, including Brayden Coker, Olivia Lee, Iliana Ferman, and Averi Tucker.

In addition, 23 students completed their Phlebotomy Certification, demonstrating advanced skills in patient care and laboratory procedures. Those students include Jaelyn Dosia, Ashlynn Holley, Lily Lester, Jazlyn Major, Luke McClure, Skyler McCown, Kayleigh Overturf, Jacob Savell, Haven Scott, Averi Tucker, Kelsey Turpin, Naudia Wakefield, Serenity Asbury, Breanna Furby, Cayleigh Jones, Emely Umanzor, Brayden Coker, Iliana Ferman, Olivia Lee, Shyla Fernandez, Aliyana Frias, Tess Phillips, and Emily Parker.

The program also celebrated two students who earned their Pharmacy Technician Certification, Averi Tucker and Tess Phillips.

These certifications provide students with valuable, real-world credentials that can lead directly to employment opportunities in the healthcare field or give them a strong foundation as they continue their education.

Students will continue building on this success, with additional Phlebotomy certifications and the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam scheduled for May 6, where even more students are expected to earn industry credentials.
