Coldspring-Oakhurst honors Teachers of the Year

Posted

COLDSPRING — The Coldspring-Oakhurst CISD has named exceptional educators who inspire, challenge, and empower our students every day, transforming classrooms into places where curiosity thrives and potential is realized.

The most important work in COCISD happens in the classroom, and these teachers exemplify that truth, making a lasting impact in the lives of the students and community, and changing futures, one student at a time.

The honored teachers:

  • James Street Elementary School: Kourtney Bennett
  • Coldspring Intermediate School: Crystal Campbell
  • Lincoln Junior High School: Alicia Plock
  • Coldspring-Oakhurst High School: Anne Gallmeier
  • Coldspring-Oakhurst High School boasts a 94 percent graduation rate

February is Career and Technical Education Month, and Coldspring-Oakhurst ISD is celebrating its achievements.

Coldspring-Oakhurst High School has achieved a 94 percent graduation rate, surpassing the state average. Even more impressive, 92 percent of graduates leave College, Career, or Military Ready — a remarkable leap from just 36 percent in 2022.

This milestone is due in large part to robust, hands-on CTE programs, which bridge classroom learning with real-world career experience.

This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our educators, students, and families, all working together to prepare the next generation for success beyond graduation.

Agriculture teachers include Beldon Rudloff, Ashlie Taylor, Morgan Legg and Kayla McMullin (LJH).

Welding teacher is Jason Payne.

Health Science teachers are Lindsey Smith and Kailtin Cook.

Law/Forensic Science teachers are Paul Farr and Scott Whiting.

AFJROTC leader is Master Sgt. David Williams.
