COLDSPRING — The Trojans continue their dominance in the 2025 baseball season, recording a third no-hitter against Colmesneil and winning 20-0 on March 18. In a historic night for the program, Coach Austin Riddell also earned his 100th career win.

“To start off with three ‘no-no’s’ before district play is just phenomenal,” Riddell said. “It’s outstanding to get one in a season, but to have three under your belt before it really counts is something special. This one will be easy to remember.”

Senior pitcher Kaden Hubbard was the star of the night, throwing a complete-game no-hitter while also delivering a dominant performance at the plate. Hubbard struck out 10 batters over four innings while blasting two home runs and driving in six RBIs. His two-way performance helped lead the Trojans to a commanding victory.

The Trojans racked up 14 hits; McCade Hilton went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, driving in one run and hitting a double. Brennan Headley went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and scoring four runs. Wade Currie contributed with a 2-for-3 performance, knocking in one run and scoring twice.

Riddell praised the team’s all-around effort but emphasized Hubbard’s exceptional performance. “It was one of the most overall dominant performances by Kaden Hubbard I have ever seen,” he said. “It was a great team win.”

On Friday, starting pitcher McCade Hilton was nearly untouchable, facing seven batters and recording six strikeouts with just one walk and no hits allowed. Reliever Jordan Ash closed out the game, facing three batters and adding one more strikeout while maintaining the team’s no-hit performance and putting an 18-0 win in the stats.

At the plate, Jordan Ash went a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate, driving in one run and scoring twice. Kaden Hubbard went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Brennan Headley went 2-for-4, knocking in two runs and scoring once.

Cadyn Barton was flawless at the plate, going 2-for-2 with one RBI while crossing the plate three times.

Riddell praised his team’s performance, saying it was a “good way to open up district. It has been a great two weeks, but we have a very tough opponent next week in Anderson-Shiro.”

The Lady Trojans wasted no time making a statement, securing a 20-2 victory over the Crockett Lady Bulldogs on Friday.

Coldspring opened the game by scoring two runs in the first inning and adding two more in the second. Meanwhile, Crockett managed to cross the plate twice in the second inning but struggled to generate any further offense for the rest of the night.

The real fireworks came late in the game when Coldspring unleashed an astonishing 16-run inning behind relentless batting and aggressive base running.

Starting pitcher Trinity Rosales faced some early trouble in the second inning, allowing two runs, but quickly settled in and controlled the game from that point forward. She delivered a strong performance on the mound, finishing with four innings pitched, seven strikeouts, and three walks.

Rosales also shined at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Catcher Krissie Bennett went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Senior Ella Phillips contributed two runs, while Camry Barton was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3.

Coach Dwain Anderson praised the team’s perseverance and explosive finish.

“We started out slow but came on strong in the fourth inning,” he said. “We ended the game with a strong 16 hits. Even with the slow start, the girls did a great job getting in a rhythm and doing what needed to be done.”

On March 18, facing Crockett for the first time that week, Coldspring opened district with a 10-0 blanking of the Lady Bulldogs.

Coldspring started strong, scoring two runs in the first inning. They added three more in the third and sealed the game with a five-run fifth inning, securing a commanding victory.

Trinity Rosales delivered an outstanding performance on the mound, pitching a complete-game shutout. She allowed only two hits and struck out nine batters. Rosales also contributed offensively, going 2-for-3 at the plate.
