COLDSPRING — By far the largest slate of candidates facing voters in the March 3, 2026, primary election will be in the U.S. House of Representatives District 10, as there are 10 Republicans and four Democrats seeking the post.
San Jacinto County is now in the newly drawn district after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned a lower court ruling putting the state’s redistricting plan on hold.
Locally, incumbent County Judge Fritz Faulkner has drawn two challengers — former county commissioner David Brandon, and Barbara Justice.
The local candidate lists have not yet been certified.
The San Jacinto News-Times has a longstanding policy to run a one-time free announcement with photo in the newspaper for every candidate running for office, allowing the candidates to have the opportunity to introduce themselves and their vision to readers.
The deadline to submit the announcement is end of day Dec. 19. No announcements will be accepted late and no announcements will run within two weeks of an election.
The photo should be a large .jpg and the announcement should be typed in a Word document not to exceed 400 words. Both should be emailed to news@sanjacnews.com.
Additionally, the San Jacinto News-Times also offers a political calendar which is a listing of candidates that is paid advertising. To be included, a candidate can call (936) 628-6851.
