SHEPHERD — The Office of Emergency Management in San Jacinto County recently hosted a response plan evaluation tabletop exercise, focusing on enhancing preparedness for emergency situations.
The event in the exercise was modeled after the 2005 train derailment in Shepherd, with some new twists to keep participants on their toes.
Agencies attending the event included Shepherd Police Department, Shepherd ISD Police, the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office, Cape Fire Department, Shepherd Fire Department, and Allegiance Mobile Health.
Also attending were experts from Harris County Hazardous Materials Response Team, The Woodlands Fire Department, Montgomery County ESD 8, and the Texas Division of Emergency Management.
