SHEPHERD — The Colmesneil Lady Dogs came into Shepherd expecting a battle, but the Lady Pirates had other plans. With sharp execution and relentless energy, Shepherd rolled to a commanding 3–0 sweep (25-12, 25-15, 25-14), proving once again that this year’s squad is a force to be reckoned with.

Head Coach Ashley Brockner praised the team’s commitment, saying, “You know, we're young this year and these girls showed up all summer. They put in the work, and they want to be out there. You can’t coach that kind of desire, it comes from within.”

That drive has been the difference-maker. Every practice, every drill, every scrimmage is a chance to sharpen their edge.

“They work every single day as hard as they can,” Brockner said. “They’re fighting for spots every day, and that competition is making us stronger as a team.”

Against Colmesneil, the Lady Pirates’ game plan was simple but effective: attack early and never let the opponent settle in. They did just that, firing on all cylinders with dominant serving, strong net play, and an aggressive offense that kept the Lady Dogs on their heels all night.

The win is more than just another victory; it’s a reflection of months of dedication and a preview of what’s ahead.

On Friday, Shepherd lost 3-0 (18-25, 11-25, 14-25) to Dayton.

On offense, Callie Dean led with 5 kills and an ace, followed by Brooklyn White with 4 kills and 2 aces.

Jazilyn Richardson led the team with 9 digs and 14 assists, followed by Dean with 8 digs.
