The Shepherd Lady Pirates left no doubt about their talent Wednesday night, dominating the Tarkington Lady Horns from the opening tip to the final buzzer and posting a 42-19 win.
Shepherd set the tone early, knocking down shots from the perimeter and applying constant defensive pressure that Tarkington simply couldn’t solve.
The turning point came in the second quarter, when the Lady Pirates held Tarkington scoreless, stretching the lead and putting the game firmly out of reach. Jaz Richardson caught fire from beyond the arc, draining three shots from downtown for 9 points, while Dakiyah Clark led all scorers with 11 points. Aliyah Thomas added 10, as Shepherd’s balanced attack kept the Horns on their heels all night.
Brooklyn White, Whitney Millage, Jaylyn Solorzano, and Kiona King each contributed to the scoring effort, underscoring the team-first approach that defined the night.
However, on Friday the Lady Pirates were defeated 40-29 by Hamshire-Fannett.
The Lady Trojans posted two wins on the week, downing Crockett 79-23 on Wednesday and beating Onalaska 63-40 on Friday.
