COLDSPRING — The Lady Trojans continued their record-setting 2025 season with two powerhouse wins over Onalaska — 17-0 on April 15 and 16-1 on Thursday — and with just one game remaining, they are on the verge of being undefeated in district play.

Head Coach Dwain Anderson praised his team’s consistent performance: “The girls came out and did what they have been doing all district long — executed our game plan to be aggressive in the strike zone.”

Currently, the team stands at 10-0 (21-6 overall) and is looking ahead toward Hempstead on Friday.

While Haylee Rosales went 4-for-4 with 4 RBIs at the plate on Friday, Ella Phillips’ 3 hits, including 2 doubles, drove in 7 runners to lead the offense. Jasper Williams also had 3 hits.

Trinity Rosales and Ashney Minor both worked the mound, combining for 10 strikeouts and giving up only 1 hit.

On April 15, Trinity Rosales was dominant on the mound, facing just 13 batters and striking out nine. Her performance anchored the team’s defensive efforts, while the offense exploded at the plate.

“The Lady Trojans came to hit tonight, racking up 21 total hits,” Anderson said.

Leading the offensive charge was Camry Barton, who was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate. Taonna McGraw followed with an impressive 3-for-4, and Ashney Minor went 3-for-5. Rosales also made an impact offensively, going 3-for-4 and driving in four RBIs to help her own cause.

The Lady Pirates are advancing to the playoffs.

On April 15, the Lady Pirates softball team celebrated Senior Night, recognizing Chloe Fuller, Neveah Murphey, and Rayen Alley before the start of play. The team then celebrated a 3-1 win over Huffman-Hargrave.

Rylei Brewer's home run tied the game at 1-1, and RBIs from Isabelle Hooper and Adison Simpson iced the victory. Jayci Wilson added two hits.

Hooper earned the win, allowing only one run and 4 hits while striking out 11 batters.

Then on Thursday, the Lady Pirates were downed by Livingston 11-1.

Jayci Wilson led the offense with 2 hits, while Neveah Murphey contributed 1. Wilson and Hooper shared the mound, giving up 11 runs on 9 hits while striking out 9.

While the Lady Trojans overpowered Onalaska, the Trojans ended up on the losing end of the games with Onalaska.

On April 15, Coldspring-Oakhurst fell to the Wildcats 9-4, and then on Friday, lost 11-1.

In the April 15 game, Coldspring opened scoring with a single run in the first inning, then added three more in the fourth. However, Onalaska plated two runs in the first, two in the second, one in the third, three in the fourth, and two more in the fifth to steadily pull away.

Kaden Hubbard, normally the Trojans’ first baseman, took the mound to start the game but was relieved early by Jordan Ash. Ash delivered a strong performance, showing dominance at times, but Onalaska continued to chip away with consistent scoring throughout the game.

Despite the loss, the Trojans had already secured a playoff berth with a previous win over Trinity. While this game didn’t impact their qualification for the UIL postseason, it did influence district seeding — shifting Coldspring between the second and third place slots.

On Thursday, Hagen Adams had the lone hit for the Pirates. Marshall Reeves and Landon Dellinger both toed the mound, but gave up 6 hits while striking out only 5.
