NACOGDOCHES — The Coldspring-Oakhurst Lady Trojans saw their playoff run come to a close this weekend after a hard-fought two-game series against Central Lady Bulldogs, marked by strong pitching, timely hits, and resilient effort on both sides.

Thursday’s game was defined by dominant performances in the circle, as both teams struggled to generate consistent offense.

Coldspring’s Trinity Rosales delivered an impressive outing, recording all 21 outs across seven innings while keeping Central’s hitters largely in check. Central struck first in the opening inning, capitalizing on a sacrifice play to take a 1-0 lead. The Lady Trojans responded in the bottom of the third with a surge of momentum. Cassidy Loll ignited the rally with a triple down the left field line, and Krissie Bennett followed with a run-scoring single, giving Coldspring a brief 2-1 advantage.

However, Central answered in the fourth inning. A solo home run by Ryann Brooks, followed by an RBI double from Lilly Acosta, proved to be the difference as Central reclaimed the lead at 3-2.

Despite a strong defensive effort and aggressive baserunning, including five stolen bases, Coldspring was unable to break through against Central pitcher Ava Beaty, who struck out 11 and held the Lady Trojans to just two hits.

Facing elimination on Saturday at Nacogdoches High School, the Lady Trojans came out swinging, plating three runs in the top of the first inning. Key contributions from Krissie Bennett and Trinity Rosales helped Coldspring seize early momentum, but Central responded with a decisive second inning, scoring six runs to swing control of the game.

Capitalizing on walks and timely hitting, the Lady Bulldogs built a lead they would not relinquish. Coldspring continued to fight, spreading contributions across the lineup with RBIs from Rosales, Olivia Lee, Bennett, Jasper Williams, and Cassidy Loll.

Bennett led the team offensively with two hits, while the Lady Trojans showed resilience by staying within striking distance throughout the contest. In the circle, Rosales and Loll shared pitching duties, combining for seven innings against a persistent Central lineup.

With the 10-6 loss, Coldspring concludes its 2026 season.
