New year, new officials

COLDSPRING — On Jan. 1, County Officials who won in the recent election were officially sworn in by the County Judge Fritz Faulkner. The ceremony took place at the County Courthouse, which was filled to capacity with attendees.

Faulkner said, “This is the largest attendance that I have seen at a swearing-in ceremony.”

The officials sworn in included,

• John Wells, 411th District Court

• Sam Houston, County Sheriff Judge

• Crystal Dominy, Commissioner, Precinct 3

• Luke Sweeney, Commissioner, Precinct 1

• Ray Atchley, Constable, Precinct 2

• Kevin Freed, Constable, Precinct 3

• Brian Cosme, Constable, Precinct 4

• Dwayne Wright, Republican Party Chairman

• Rae Lynn Phillips, Constable, Precinct 1

• Betty Davis, Tax Assessor/Collector

Following the ceremony, many guests stayed to congratulate the newly sworn-in officials and engage in conversations about their plans and priorities for the county’s future.
