There are 3,466 criminal justice jobs available in Texas. Apply today to begin your criminal justice education in January at the Polk County Center with Lamar State College Orange. Did you know that you can also begin your nursing career this January at the Polk County Center?
If you dream of becoming a teacher, you may register now for eight-week teacher aide exemption classes in Livingston that will put you on track to earn an associate degree and a bachelor’s degree, with graduation as early as January of 2027. Classes start Jan. 21 and it is not too late to register.
Additionally, whether it is construction, logistics, cosmetology or real estate, if your dream is to manage a business you may also register today for business management classes which also begin Jan. 21.
Those interested in pursuing a career in criminal justice should mark their calendar for 4-6 p.m. on Jan. 14 for “Java & Justice”; a business career mixer is slated for 4-6 p.m. on Jan. 15; a nurse aide information session will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Jan. 16; a teachers of tomorrow rally is slated for noon to 3 p.m. on Jan. 17; and an ESL & GED career connections event will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Feb. 5.
