•Women's League of San Jacinto County delivered the remaining checks to Shepherd First Baptist Church and The Education Foundation last week. Missy Johnson, Church Secretary, received one for the church. I delivered this one and just managed to avoid the storm which suddenly dropped buckets of rain on everything. Still, we are lucky in our community that we do not have floods or fires like some parts of our country.
Gayle Booth, Women's League Board member, gave the check to the Education Foundation. It was received by Deb Cooper and Suzanne York. All the money the League makes through the year is donated to such worthy causes at the end of the fiscal year. which is May for the League.
We are always happiest when we have a lot to give. The year begins again in September on the second Thursday of the month. Lunch and a guest speaker and great company make it a special occasion.
