POINT BLANK — The governing body for Point Blank will share duties after extenuating circumstances caused a problem with seating elected officials.
Mark Wood, the former mayor who did not run for re-election, said that Rich Booth, who was elected mayor on May 3, had to decline the position over a family emergency, and work requirements will keep Mayor Pro Tem Mel Basham from serving.
Wood said that in the interim, he will continue management of grants for street works and working with FEMA in connection with the 2024 disasters. Council members Gary Wulf and Matt Smith will maintain city operations
“For people who call the city, the response may not be as quick, but it will come,” he said.
