The Sullivan Fire located south of the Double Lake Recreation Area near NFSR 200 and 220 was 80 percent contained as of Monday, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.

There is no current threat to the public, and firefighter and public safety remain the top priority.

Smoke may be visible along nearby roadways FM 2025 and FM 2666, the public is urged to use caution while traveling in the area.

In light of the fire, a section of the Lone Star Hiking Trail that remains closed is between the Double Lake Recreation Area and Trailhead #12, west to NFSR 221.

All other sections of the Lone Star Hiking Trail are open. Visitors are asked to respect closure signs and avoid the area while crews continue suppression and monitoring operations.

The Double Lake Recreation area remains open at this time. There is no immediate threat to visitors in the recreation area.
