Ronnie Paul Thorpe was born in Holly Grove, Ark., on Dec. 10, 1935, to parents Newton Paul Thorpe and Essie Malone Thorpe. He entered Heaven’s gates on Sept. 6, 2026, at the age of 90. Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents; beloved son, Brent Thorpe; and his sisters, Ruth Standifer, Jane Hester, and Michaella Bradbury. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Anna Thorpe, and her cherished family; son, Tod Thorpe and wife, Mary; stepdaughter, Autumn Speegle; sister, Sherry Davis; granddaughter, Nicole Bonnett and husband, Kacey; and great-granddaughter, Emery Jackson.
Ron was a member of the First Baptist Church of Conroe, Texas, and relished the fellowship of the members in his Life Group. He led a long and storied life, full of travel and adventures that always highlighted his love of nature, flowers, birds, wildlife … and of course, dogs and horses.
Visitation was held at Evergreen Baptist Church on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026. Funeral services followed with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Berger officiating. Burial followed in the Evergreen Cemetery.
