SHEPHERD — The Shepherd Athletic Department gathered to celebrate a year of dedication, perseverance, and achievement at its annual Athletic Awards Ceremony.

The evening, held May 5, recognized not only outstanding performances on the field and court, but also the academic commitment and character displayed by Shepherd student-athletes throughout the school year.

Among the night’s highest honors, Eduardo Jaime Jr. and Kaci Roberts were each awarded the prestigious Gary Corn Senior Athlete Award. This distinction represents the pinnacle of achievement for Shepherd seniors, recognizing individuals who exemplify leadership, commitment, and perseverance both in competition and in the classroom. Their impact on Shepherd athletics and their dedication to excellence make them truly deserving recipients.

The ceremony also highlighted standout performances across multiple sports. Landen Dillinger was named Football MVP following an impressive 2026 season, showcasing leadership and consistency on the field. On the hardwood, Brayden White earned Basketball MVP honors for his contributions and performance throughout the season.

On the diamond, Kyler Syracuse was recognized as Baseball MVP, a testament to his hard work, skill, and leadership during the year.

While individual awards were a focal point of the evening, the ceremony also served as a reminder of the collective effort put forth by all Shepherd athletes. Balancing the demands of academics and athletics is no small task, and the student-athletes were recognized for maintaining that balance while representing their school with pride.

The night was a celebration of more than just wins and statistics. It was a reflection of the discipline, teamwork, and “Pirate Pride” that define Shepherd athletics. As the year comes to a close, the foundation built by these athletes, both in competition and in the classroom, continues to set the standard for future generations.
