EDINBURG —The five members of the Shepherd Lady Powerlifting squad had an impressive meet at the 4A Division 2 State Tournament, with the team placing 19th out of a field of 55 teams and with Emily Gonzalez taking second place in her weight class.
Gonzales had a 405-pound lift in the squat, a 240-pound lift in the bench press and a 335-pound deadlift for a total of 980 pounds on the day.
