SHEPHERD — Director of Teaching and Learning Marjorie Pineda and Shepherd ISD highlighted the district’s growth while reviewing accountability ratings.
Pineda stated during the Thursday meeting that the district’s overall rating progressed from a 67 to a 74, which makes Shepherd ISD a C-rated district. Every reported district accountability measure improved for Shepherd ISD, including student achievement, school progress, academic growth, relative performance, and closing the gaps.
“The strongest story of 2026 is the systemwide movement with 2 of our 3 rated campuses now earning a C rating,” said Pineda. Shepherd High School climbed 4 points to a 79, and the Shepherd Intermediate rose 3 points to a 79.
Pineda stated that the next step for Shepherd ISD is building a stronger C rating and moving towards a B-rated district. It's only the beginning to sustain our momentum.
“We're driving a coordinated district wide strategy built on 4 priorities, high-quality instruction, leadership excellence, high expectations, and aligned systems”, said Pineda.
Pineda stated that strengthening the system implementation will directly elevate instructional quality and student success for the district.
“We know a C is not our final destination. We were made fully committed to delivering stronger instruction, meaningful growth, and improved outcomes,” said Pineda.
