SHEPHERD — Three years after being awarded a $4.2 million grant to help shore up sewer and drainange infrastructure, the Shepherd City Council is now seeking bids for the project.
At the Oct. 21 meeting, council members authorized seeking bids.
City Secretary Debra Hagler said those bids should be opened at the December meeting, and if approved, the project should start in January 2025.
The project will involve, among other items, the replacement of approximately 9 miles of sewer line, which will help stop infiltration of storm water into the sewer system and wastewater plant, Hagler said.
