Teachers celebrated for TIA gains

SHEPHERD — The Shepherd ISD Prize Patrol paid surprise visits to outstanding educators who have earned designations through the Texas Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) program.

This initiative rewards and retains highly effective teachers, particularly in high-need and rural areas, by providing increased compensation based on their designation levels: Recognized, Exemplary, and Master.

This year these designated teachers have earned Shepherd ISD approximately $540,000. Those teachers include:

Austin Jones, Shepherd Middle School — Exemplary

Emily Jones, Shepherd Primary School — Exemplary

Kelsey Morris, Shepherd Middle School — Exemplary

Kaylan Swiech, Shepherd Intermediate School — Exemplary

Delaina Thomas, Shepherd Intermediate School — Exemplary
