SAN JACINTO COUNTY — Texas Department of Public Safety troopers investigated a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 59 at the intersection of Farm-to-Market 1127, that occurred Friday, May 16.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 2:49 p.m., a 2018 Audi Q7 was traveling north on U.S. 59, while a 2012 Nissan Versa was turning left off F.M. 1127 onto U.S. 59.
It is reported that the driver of the Nissan failed to yield the right-of-way while turning left, turned into the path of the Audi, and was struck in the side.
Shepherd Police Chief Clint Headley said his department, in coordination with the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office, Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, Shepherd Fire Department, and multiple EMS agencies, responded to safely manage the scene.
The driver of the Audi, 44-year-old Amy Breland of Kingwood, was transported to CHI St. Luke’s Livingston for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Nissan, 46-year-old Michael Watson of Shepherd, and one passenger, 67-year-old Marilyn Watson of Shepherd, were transported to Hermann Memorial Hospital of Houston for treatment of possible life-threatening injuries.
