Bobby “Jean” Shoemaker went peacefully into the arms Jesus on Sunday, February 23rd, 2025.

Jean was born on December 18th, 1939 in Pasadena, Texas. On June 1st, 1958 she married her high school sweetheart, Leonard Shoemaker. Together they owned Leonard W. Shoemaker and Associates, a civil engineering company that Jean would be the vice president of for most of her career. She had a passion for equestrian sports, and she and Leonard even owned a horse farm. They were avid travelers and enjoyed each other’s company at destinations all around the world. Jean also enjoyed skiing, reading, sewing, and cooking. She is the author of a book titled “Bayou Shadows.” Most notably, Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Jean is preceded in death by her mother Grace Hazelwood, her father Ferris Foster, and her grandmother Zora Revis.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Leonard Shoemaker, her daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Van Walker, her grandson London (Brooke) Walker, granddaughter Keenan (Ethan) Silverman, three great grandchildren Roman Walker, Elijah Walker, and Clementine Silverman, her nephew Andy Pell, nieces Tracy Graham and Susannah Pell Turner, and 7 great nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held on Saturday, March 8th, 2025 at Riley Funeral Home in Woodville. A burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery where she will rest peacefully next to her beloved in-laws Josephine and Leonard M. Shoemaker. Jean was a Christian in faith, and her family takes comfort in knowing that she will spend eternity in Heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  262
