CENTERVILLE — On Friday, the Broaddus Bulldogs came to Centerville and left with a 65-49 defeat.
With that win, Centerville is tied with Wells for the top spot in the district rankings through nine games and is now ranked 10th in the state.

On Wednesday, Laneville did not have enough players, so Centerville boys picked up their seventh district win on a forfeit.
The Tigers were overpowered by a tough Crockett team on Friday, dropping the district contest 75-54 to move 2-3 in district play.
Crockett’s early-game press kept the Tigers off-balance — Trinity did make its first points until the second quarter, being outscored 18-0 in the first.
On Jan. 22, the Tigers got the win against the New Waverly Bulldogs with a score of 55-43.
The Indians were outpaced 3-1 by the Centerville Tigers on Friday for a 58-19 loss.
On Jan. 22, Groveton lost to Grapeland 87-34.
Ty Torregrossa and George Snyder each put up 10 points in the effort.
The Eagles lost to Martinsville 62-57 on Thursday and then posted an 84-59 loss to Kennard on Friday.
The Lady Indians got back into the win column with a 46-43 win over the Centerville Lady Tigers on Friday.
Leading scorers were Kayleigh Albus with 15, Laney Peterson with 13, and Lauren Moore, Darbi Parker and Aubrey Alexander each had 4.
On Wednesday, Groveton lost to Grapeland 71-43.

On Wednesday, Centerville traveled to Laneville to take on the Yellowjackets. Centerville defeated Laneville 51-30 to pick up their third district win.
Top scorers were Taylor Barton with 21 points, Jordyn Jones with 19 points, Peyton Noack with 4 points, Jamie Whittlesey with 4 points, Cheyenne Reese with 2 points and Kyleigh Bogs with 1 point.
The Lady Tigers and the Crockett Lady Bulldogs exchanged leads and baskets on Friday, but Trinity found another gear in the fourth quarter and came back for a 50-34 win.
Bree Davidson’s 3 treys, with Asis Cerda and Emma Sustaita adding 1 apiece, pushed Trinity over the top for the district win.
Center Mariah Tyson topped scorers with 11, followed by Sustaita with 10. Tyson also had 17 rebounds to her credit.
On Wednesday, Trinity fell to New Waverly 38-26. Tyson and Paetyn Jolly each had 9 points, and Tyson pulled in 14 rebounds.
The Lady Eagles were hammered by Martinsville on Thursday 62-5.
