CENTERVILLE — The Bulldogs picked up two more wins last week to move to a 5-0 record on the year.
On Nov. 19, Grand Saline made the trip to Centerville, and lost 101-56 behind a huge effort from Jake Slaten, who also set the single-game scoring record at Centerville, and freshman Hardy Brown, who set a single-game freshman assist record with 17.
Top producers were Jake Slaten with 48 points, 20 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 blocks and 3 steals; Hardy Brown with 6 points, 3 rebounds, 17 assists and 2 steals; Braden White with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 1 steal; Wyatt Clede with 10 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals; and Kolt Larsen with 14 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.
The Centerville JV downed Grand Saline 45-27.
Top scorers were Brandon McWhorter with 22 points, Kie Barton with 16 points, Chris Fry with 4 points, and Brice Selman with 3 points.
On Friday, Centerville traveled to Nacogdoches to take on the JV team, and Centerville won 61-30 behind a triple-double performance from Jake Slaten.
Top producers were Jake Slaten with 26 points, 14 rebounds, 12 blocks, 1 assist and 3 steals; Kolt Larsen with 9 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists; Hardy Brown with 10 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists and 3 steals; Iain Kendrick with 14 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals; and Wyatt Clede with 2 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks.
The Tigers went 2-2 in the weekend Latexo Tournament.
Terian Maxie average a double-double throughout the matches; Ayden Debose had a career high of 35 points in a game; and Tristan Bass averaged double figures for the tournament.
During the tournament, the Tigers downed Normangee 65-54 and Warren 78-42, but lost 58-54 to Alto and 67-57 to Latexo.
On Nov. 19, Trinity won over Central Heights 63-33.
The Indians were outclassed by the Wells Pirates 80-17 on Thursday.
On the following Saturday, Groveton lost to the Cushing Bearkats 79-44.
The Eagles won their opening tilt against Spurger 60-57 on Friday.
